Colonial Office letter No.63291 of the 14th.November
authorised payment of a pension of £52.9.80 and 25% temporary
increase, to Mrs. Parkinson, widow of the late Mr.C.H.Parkinson
of the Hong Kong Prison Department.
We have now received a letter from the Goverment of
Hong Kong instructing us to pay Era. Parkinson a pension of £13.3.
per annum in sterling and #258.17 in dollars at the current rate d
the day; if the rate falls below 38/- pay at 36/-. The rate
yesterday was 58/6d and it will probably soar still higher,
